Kate Arthur is a South African artist currently living and working in Cape Town.

She obtained a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from Rhodes University in 2007 and works predominantly in mediums of painting, drawing and printmaking.

She is interested in portraiture, identity and representations of the body.

Two of Arthur’s large-scale body portraits in oil won first and second prize in the Sanlam National Portrait Award in 2017.
